A map-based report on the vascular plant diversity of the Átl’ḵa7tsem/Howe Sound Biosphere Region, relating historical and community science records to biogeoclimatic zones and protected areas across the biosphere.

Protocol for the Detection of Extirpation

Developed on Galiano Island, this protocol for detecting local extinction, or extirpation, combines historical specimens, community science observations and targeted searches. Weighing the search effort spent in each species' historical and potential habitat, the protocol tests the hypothesis that a population has been lost, in line with IUCN extinction criteria.
